The President and Secretary of the Cape Coast Polytechnic Alumni Association, Mr. Eric Awere and Richmond Yeboah, this morning presented twenty five (25) boxes of LED Street Lights valued at Thirty Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 32,000) to the Management of the Cape Coast Technical University.

The Street Lights were donated by Mr. Seji Saji, a past student and a Deputy Director General at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). The donation was in response to a request the Executives of the National Alumni made to him to assist the University in providing street lights to improve visibility and security on the University Campus.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Technical University, Rt. Rev. Ing. Prof. Joshua Danso Owusu-Sekyere, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his appreciation for the gesture and called on other past students to emulate it. According to the Vice-Chancellor, Members of the Alumni Community plays very important role in the development of any University. He thus, appealed to past students to continue to support the development of the Technical University.

Present at the short ceremony were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S. K. Ansah, Registrar, Dr. Francis Narh Akrono, Director of Finance, Mr. Kwabena Owusu, Director of Works, Mr. Gabriel Acquaah Hagan, Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Benjamin Edu-Mensah, Dean of the School of Applied Sciences and Arts, Dr. Emmanuel Kwaw, Director of the Centre for Renewal Energy, Mr. Emmanuel Bamfo-Agyei and the Officer in Charge of Alumni Relations, Mr. Samuel Morgan.
