Interim Registrar

Mr. Micheal Magnus Bentil

This Office is headed by the Registrar who is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Institution. The Registrar is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the University’s entire administration. He supervises and co-ordinates the University’s administrative machinery, particularly in matters relating to the following: Council, Academic Board, Recruitment, Legal and Statutory issues.

The divisions under the Registry are Examinations, Admissions and Records, General Administration, Personnel and Welfare, and Public Relations. These divisions are headed by Deputy Registrars, Senior Assistant Registrars and other administrative heads.


This Section, under the Office of the Registrar, is in charge of matters relating to University Elections, Legal Matters, Postal and Telecommunication Services, Transport Services, and Security issues.


Personnel and Welfare Section is responsible to the Registrar for appointments and promotions, manpower development, matters relating to national service personnel, terms and conditions of service, industrial relations, salary administration  andstaff welfare

This Office takes up Secretaryship of the:

  • Appointments and Promotions Boards (Senior Member/Staff and Junior Staff)
  • Disciplinary Committees
  • Joint Negotiation Committee


The Examinations Unit, under the Office of the Registrar, is generally responsible for the conduct of inteal and exteal examinations. This includes receiving draft examination questions from academic departments for onward submission to the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) for moderation and receiving same from the Board, attending to students’ complaints in respect of examination and printing of examination questions as well as keeping safe custody of the questions and examination materials.

The Unit also liaises with the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA) in the preparation of examination timetable including the allocation of examination halls, prepares invigilators’ rota for assigning invigilators to examination centres, facilitates the vetting of final year examination scripts by NABPTEX, and sensitises freshmen on the institution’s rules and regulations regarding examination and progression


The Admissions and Records Unit is under the Office of the Registrar. The Unit’s functions include: collating of admission requirements for the preparation of admission brochure and admission forms; receiving and processing of admission forms for onward submission to the Joint Admission Board; processing and distributing of admission letters to successful applicants; managing of students’ records; preparing and issuing of students’ transcripts, attestation, testimonials and results slip; giving out certificates to students, attending to students’ complaints in respect of their academic records, liaising with the National Service Secretariat for the students’ national service posting; and liaising with exteal examination bodies to authenticate students’ results and certificates for admissions.


The Public Relations Unit is under the Office of the Registrar. The Unit serves as a mouth piece of the University to the outside world and also helps in informationdissemination in the institution.

The Unit performs the following functions: Liaising with media houses for coverage of events e.g. Congregation, Matriculation, assessing press coverage through press cutting activities, publishing of relevant corporate information and significant community issues and events, maintaining and developing photo library for the institution, coordinating of photography and designing for the University’s publications and protocol for visitors.


The Transport Unit is under the General Administration Section of the University. The Unit manages the University’s fleet of vehicles and provides varied services to the University Community.  The Transport Officer works with a team of drivers.


The Sports and Recreation Section, which is under the Registrar’s Office, is in charge of all sporting and recreational activities in the institution. The Section seeks to enhance the fitness and health of all members in the University community through physical activities, publications and lectures. The Office operates on the ancient Greek belief that “a sound mind lives in a sound body” and as a result, the Section expects to get all members of the University community fit and sound for their daily Endeavour’s.
